STUDENT ACTIVITIES

BIKE RODEO

Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center will be sponsoring a Bike Rodeo on Saturday, June 3 at the Gipp Memorial Arena in Laurium from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.  They will be doing bike safety checks, bike-rider photo ID’s, helmet fitting, and an obstacle course.  Please bring your bicycle and helmet.  The rodeo is for ages 5-12 and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Registration is required.  Please call 337-4187 to reserve a spot.

SPRING-R-ROO GYMNASTICS CENTER

USA Junior Olympic Programs are being held at the E-Center Gymnasium in the old Lake Linden Elementary School.  Classes will run from June 19th-August 16th (8 week session).  No classes on July 17th and 19th.  Toddler & Pre-School is $45.00, Grade School is $55.00, Team is $75.00 (to register for both days add $20.00).  Family discount (2 or more) $5.00 per student.

KEWEENAW MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER AND KEWEENAW KRAYONS TO OFFER SAFE SITTERâ BABYSITTING COURSE

Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center and Keweenaw Krayons are teaming up to offer a Safe Sitter babysitting training course.  The course is offered to anyone age 11 or older interested in becoming a more responsible, well-equipped babysitter. The class teaches safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies.

The two-day course will be held June 22 and 23 from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM each day.  Students must attend both days of the course.  There is a $20 fee per student to cover the cost of the required manual.  The course will be held in the Keweenaw Krayons classroom in the Mohawk School and will be taught by Registered Nurses from Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center.  Registration is required.  To register, call Elaine Parks at 337-6598.
