Good luck to the volleyball teams as they travel to Gwinn today!

Good luck to the JV football team as they take on Houghton tonight and to the varsity team as they travel to Houghton on Saturday!

Today's kindness reminder is from Robin Sharma, a top leadership expert ... "The respect you give others is a dramatic reflection of the respect you give yourself."

The commons will be closed during both lunches today.

Fall Varsity Sport Athletes - log into Schoology and vote for your king and queen candidates in the Fall Varsity Sport group. Voting ends at 3:00pm today.

Homecoming week starts on Monday! The first dress up day is Generation Day. Freshmen dress up as babies, Sophomores dress in your best elementary gear, Juniors come as adults, and Seniors dress like you’re getting a senior discount! Remember the class with the highest percentage of participation in the dress up day earns points towards winning the coveted Spirit Jug. Show you class spirit and dress up with the theme. Class counts will be done during third hour.

Penny Wars also start on Monday! Bring your money to the second floor office and fill up the jugs. This event also earns your class points and the money is donated to a worthy cause. The class with the most money donated wins. Pennies add to your total. All other money takes away from the class total.

Hallway decorating begins on Monday from 6-9 p.m. It’s also on Tuesday and Thursday. This year’s theme is Disney/Pixar movies. Stop in to help your class transform the hallways at CHS into a movie set. The best decorated hallway wins points toward the Spirit Jug.

Other events to put on your calendar for next week:
Home volleyball Tuesday night
Powderpuff football and class tug-o-war at Agassiz field Wednesday night
Coronation Assembly at the end of third hour on Thursday
Pep assembly and ice cream sundaes at Agassiz field Friday 7th hour
Homecoming Parade Friday night. Students who walk in the parade get into the football game for free
Homecoming dance after the football game

There has been a little controversy surrounding the Mr. Copper King pageant held during the homecoming pep assembly. We are bringing this event back in a new and improved format.

I would also like to give a huge shout out to the students of the student senate, pep club and cheerleaders for organizing our Homecoming 2021. Thank you for choosing our dress-up days, planning the hall decorating and parade, organizing the powerderpuff game, coronation, the pep assembly, and the dance. I know this takes a lot of time and planning to pull this all off so thank you students!

Happy birthday to Desteny and Shane!
