Martin Caserio graduated from Michigan Tech in 1936 and received his Honorary Doctor of Science Degree in 1961. He began a career with General Motors in 1937. Named Manager of Pontiac Division in 1974, where he developed the Firebird. In 1975 appointed Vice President of General Motors. He helped many people from Calumet begin a career with General Motors.
