Translator of Finnish Literary Classics
A graduate of Columbia University. Taught at MTU and The State University of New York. Upon retirement, he began a second career in the translation of Finnish literature into English. His translations include the KALEVALA, STORM OVER THE LAND, and UNDER THE NORTH STAR. He has been awarded the Finnish Order of the Lion, Knight First Class, by the Finnish Government.
