President's Award/Overcoming Medical Challenges
Bernard is a graduate of Michigan Tech in 1963. He went to work for Dow-Corning where he was about to get his doctorate in metallurgy when he suffered a massive, crippling stroke. His wife became his care-giver. The recognition given to them is for the devotion they have given to each other in meeting this challenge. He has chronicled his life in a book painfully written called “The True Story".
