Arthur Thurner

Professor and Author of Local History
Thurner earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Degrees at the University of Chicago. He became a full professor there and in 1985 earned the University’s Cartelyou-Lowry Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is a researcher of our local history and has written several books, including “Calumet Copper and People”.
