Steck graduated from the University of Michigan in 1968, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa, and earned his Masters and Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin. He is Professor of Physics at St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota, where he has been honored with University’s Teacher/Scholar Award. His academic field of interest has been environmental radiation in the form of radon gas and the threat it poses to human health.
