Keith & Claire Ojala
Calumet High School - 1950 & 1952
President’s Award for distinguished careers and community service
The Ojala's are both Calumet High School graduates (Keith in 1950 and Claire in 1952). Both have had distinguished careers; Keith in the U.S. Air Force and with Ford Motor Co., and Claire with Ford Motor Co., and a flyer career with Michigan's Chapter of 99's, an international organization of women pilots founded by Amelia Earhart. Upon retirement, they returned to the Copper Country and became active in many volunteer organizations, including the All-School Reunion Committee, The Keweenaw Heritage Center, The Calumet Theatre, and the Keweenaw National Park. Keith also coached MTU students with resume writing and job-hunting techniques.
