Mine manager of the White Pine Copper Co., which employed over 3000 workers and provided prosperity for the Western Upper Peninsula. Later, he worked in the oil shale and uranium mining industries. He also worked with the U.S. Bureau of Mines and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
