Mary Locke-Peterman
Calumet High School - 1924
An outstanding researcher and teacher in biochemistry. A 1929 graduate of Smith College (BA) and the University of Wisconsin (PhD) in 1939. A recipient of several prestigious awards for her cancer research and basic cell research, including the Sloan Award for cancer research, honorary doctorate from the Smith College, and the Garvan Medal from The American Chemical Society for Distinguished Service.
