October is National Bullying Prevention Month
More than one out of every five students will be bullied this year, chances are this is happening to someone you know and care about. This is not okay. Everyone has the right to feel safe and supported.
Bullying is not only devastating while it’s happening; research shows that the negative effects can last a lifetime. You can be especially effective in bullying intervention. Silence is not an acceptable response to bullying. Ignoring it won’t work. Everyone needs to be empowered with options for responding to bullying situations. Everyone’s actions matter; we all have a role to play in bullying prevention. Our message to others is stronger when we are united by the common principle that bullying is never acceptable. If you or someone you know if being bullied please tell an adult. We can’t help if we don’t know.
In Football on Friday night, Varsity fell to Kingsford.
In Freshman Volleyball on Saturday, the girls split one game and lost two.
The Varsity Volleyball team won the D3/D4 Showdown in Livonia! They defeated three teams who are ranked in the top 10 in the state!
Good Luck to the Cross Country teams who meet in Negaunee today!

There will be a Student Senate meeting in Mrs. Willmert’s room on Wednesday after school.
There will be a representative from NMU here on Wednesday, October 2 from 12:30-1:30 in Mrs. Goulette’s room. Sign up is in the second floor office!
There will be a SADD Chapter meeting for all interested in joining on Wednesday after school in the Art Room. Everyone is welcome - we have been a positive presence in CHS for over 20 years - raising awareness on important issues that affect students and providing helpful information on things like suicide prevention, safe driving, and more. Join us!
Quiz Bowl Practice is held before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and after school on Wednesdays in Mr. Torola's room, 201.
All students interested in going on the Chicago Art Trip - there will be a meeting today after school in the Art Room. We will begin our popcorn fundraiser today.
